What is rosette spots?

Rosette spots are circular or oval-shaped skin lesions that are typically pink, red, or brown in color. These spots are generally round and have a central clearing or depression surrounded by a slightly raised, scaly border. Rosette spots are called so because of their appearance, which resembles a rosette flower.

Rosette spots are commonly seen in a variety of diseases, including:

  1. Erythema multiforme: This condition is a type of hypersensitivity reaction that affects the skin and mucous membranes.

  2. Tinea versicolor: This is a fungal skin infection that causes lighter or darker spots on the skin.

  3. Cutaneous lupus erythematosus: This is an autoimmune disease that affects the skin, causing a rash and other symptoms.

  4. Granuloma annulare: This is a chronic inflammatory condition that causes a ring-shaped rash on the skin.

The treatment of rosette spots depends on the underlying cause. Treatment may involve the use of topical or oral medications, such as steroids or antifungals, or other measures aimed at controlling the underlying condition.
